I spent my Labor Day weekend in Charleston, a welcome change from NYC. I hadn’t been home since February (!!) so it was nice to be with my family and friends for the first time in a long time. I flew in Thursday night shortly before Hurricane Hermine was scheduled to hit.
Friday morning the storm didn’t seem to bad, so Mom and I tried to run around town and shop before my party on Saturday but everything was closed. We met Dad at Little Jack’s Tavern, a restaurant that opened since I have been gone. Like everything else Brooks Reitz has a hand in, Little Jack’s did not disappoint.
I couldn’t resist going to the Battery and taking a few silly pictures and videos. The rest of the day was spent prepping for my party on Saturday!
Saturday morning was spent at the Charleston Farmer’s Market before setting up for my #WearOutYourWhite party. The Farmer’s Market is one of my favorite things to go to in Charleston on the weekends. It’s an easy walk from my house and they have the best okra in town.
Gillian Ellis of Coastal Bride came over with balloons and our party hashtag cut out from her Cricut. We blew the balloons up as big as we could, stuck our hashtag on and our party got started! The party started at 6:30 and we ended up having people over until at least 10:30.

Mom made these killer chicken salad sandwiches. You can easily use cookie cutters to make cute sandwich shapes; I think it looks a lot nicer this way.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing as much as I could! Sunday began with brunch at Le Farfalle. I went in expecting to be disappointed and came out blown away by how incredible the food is (seriously I think it’s the best bacon I’ve ever had). Shoutout to my waiter for giving me some great NYC restaurant recs! This is a must-try spot if you’re visiting Charleston in the next few months.
OH! And I couldn’t end this post without giving a shoutout to my heroes at myPhoneMD on King Street. My phone had cracked and I had gotten tempered glass put on in NYC but it was completely misaligned and driving me insane. The guys here hooked me up with some new tempered glass and it didn’t break the bank. THANK YOU!
